What the conference programme includes

The Gallipoli Centenary Conference will be held in Central London in late September 2015. With eleven expert speakers, a maximum capacity of 130 participants, and a subsidised fee structure, demand will be high. And places will be allocated on a strictly "first come, first served" basis. The complete conference includes:

Fri 25 Sep 2015: 19:30 onwards. Venue: Union Jack Club

  • Welcome drinks, hot buffet dinner, plus curtain-raiser

  • "The Great War through the Magic Lantern" - previously unseen slides of Gallipoli, researched and presented by Kevin Varty

Sat 26 Sep 2015: 10:00-17:30 (doors open 09:15) Venue: Army & Navy Club

  • "The Dardanelles: the centrepiece of British Imperial Strategy in 1915?" - Prof. Eric Grove

  • "They know practically nothing: The Australian Imperial Force and the experience of inter-theatre learning between Gallipoli and the Western Front, 1915-16" - Aimee Fox-Godden

Five conference options: days only and residential

1. Day conference Sat and Sun only (26-27 Sep): £80

Daytime conference at the Army & Navy Club, Pall Mall (Sat and Sun), including buffet lunch, and morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks. (Excludes evening social events, and bed and breakfast.)

2. Day conference plus either Fri or Sat evening social event (25-27 Sep): £130

Daytime conference at the Army & Navy Club, Pall Mall (Sat and Sun), including buffet lunch, and morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks. Plus social events for one evening at the Union Jack Club, either: (i) Welcome drinks, hot buffet dinner, and Magic Lantern show (Fri eve) or (ii) Gala dinner with after-dinner speaker (Sat eve). (Excludes bed and breakfast.) For individual day attendance, see "Waiting List" below.

3. Day conference plus both Fri and Sat evening social events (25-27 Sep): £165

Daytime conference at the Army & Navy Club, Pall Mall (Sat and Sun), including buffet lunch, and morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks. Plus social events for both evenings at the Union Jack Club: Welcome drinks, hot buffet dinner, and Magic Lantern show (Fri eve) and Gala dinner with after-dinner speaker (Sat eve). (Excludes bed and breakfast.)

4. Day conference plus Sat evening social event with residence (26-27 Sep): £195

Daytime conference at the Army & Navy Club, Pall Mall (Sat and Sun), including buffet lunch, and morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks. Plus dinner, bed and breakfast in single room for one night (Sat) at the Union Jack Club in Waterloo. Evening meal plan: Gala dinner with after-dinner speaker (Sat). (Excludes Fri social event and Fri bed and breakfast.)

5. Day conference plus Fri and Sat evening social events with residence (25-27 Sep): £280

Welcome drinks and Magic Lantern show at the Union Jack Club (Fri eve). Daytime conference at the Army & Navy Club, Pall Mall (Sat and Sun), including buffet lunch, and morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks. Plus dinner, bed and breakfast in single room for two nights (Fri and Sat) at the Union Jack Club in Waterloo. Evening meal plan: hot buffet dinner (Fri); Gala dinner with after-dinner speaker (Sat).

Plus … Waiting list for individual day attendance

Because of the limited capacity, we are not initially offering tickets for individual days as this may result in us having to turn away two-day participants. Instead, a waiting list will be set up and we'll contact people seeking individual day tickets a week or so before the conference starts to try to offer what remains.

Please remember: places will be allocated on a strictly first come, first served basis.

CONFERENCE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Full payment required with booking. Conference places strictly subject to availability. Programme may change should unforeseen circumstances arise. Refunds of £75 per night can be made for residential packages cancelled by 28 Aug 2015 but no refunds can be given for cancellations made after that date. Transport from the Union Jack Club to the Army & Navy Club is not included but taxi shares can be arranged. Dress code: smart/casual (no jeans please).
